【讲师介绍】
LLB (Hons) (Manchester University), PhD (Aberdeen University), Solicitor (England and Wales, non-practising)
Biography Dr Colin Mackie studied law at the University of Manchester. He joined the Law School as an AHRC funded doctoral candidate in October 2010 and commenced a lectureship in February 2013. Prior to this, he trained as a solicitor in England with the international law firm, Pinsent Masons LLP.
Colin successfully completed his doctorate titled, ‘Corporate Structures and Environmental Liability under
EU Law’ in July 2013. His thesis examined the adequacy of existing legal mechanisms under EU law for imposing financial liability for environmental damage upon corporate groups.
Research Interests
Colin's research interests relate to the regulation of corporate groups, historical and theoretical foundations of modern company law and applications of the polluter-pays principle under environmental law.Colin is interested in supervising research students working in the following areas: environmental law, corporate environmental liability and company law (domestic and comparative).
